Реферат: The Noyon Uul barrows are the only Xiongnu archaeological site where items of their clothing have been preserved. As a result of the research conducted by the Russian-Mongolian joint expedition, new items of the Xiongnu nobles’ garments were discovered, which significantly enriched the collection obtained as a result of the excavations of the expedition led by P. K. Kozlov. Woolen leggings, a silk vest, numerous fragments of silk robes, caftans, fur coats and headdresses were found. The study of Xiongnu clothes, represented by real items, allows us to see how the Xiongnu nobility dressed. This is important because clothing at all times was the most important ethnic indicator, uniting people of one community. The garment of the noble Xiongnu organically combined things of different origin – Chinese silk robes, caftans of their own style, silk and woolen pants and a great variety of headdresses. The Xiongnu nobility had many opportunities to create their own style of dress. Thanks to gifts from the Han imperial court, which included not only silk fabrics but also ready-made products, as well as using woolen textiles of Western origin, the Xiongnu nobility dressed in their own eclectic style.
